Publication Ethics
The publication of articles in Peradaban Journal of Religion and Society (PJRS) upholds the highest standards of ethical behavior. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, peer reviewers, and editors, are expected to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:
Authors:
- Adherence to Guidelines: Authors must comply with the journal's publication requirements and follow author guidelines.
- Originality and Integrity: Authors should ensure that their manuscripts are original, free of plagiarism, and presented with honesty, avoiding fabrication or falsification.
- Exclusive Submission: Authors commit to not submitting the manuscript elsewhere during the review process for Peradaban Journal of Religion and Society (PJRS) .
- Clarity in Methodology: Authors should describe their research methods clearly and unambiguously to facilitate validation by others.
- Ethical Conduct: Research must be conducted in an ethical and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant laws and guidelines.
- Accountability: Authors are responsible for the content of their submitted and published work.
- Error Reporting: Authors must promptly notify the journal editor of any fundamental errors or inaccuracies in their published work and cooperate in retractions or corrections.
Peer Reviewers:
- Expertise and Timeliness: Reviewers should only assess articles within their expertise and commit to providing timely reviews.
- Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should offer clear and constructive feedback, supported by relevant arguments.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the review process and not disclose details of the discussion.
- Avoidance of Misuse: Reviewers refrain from using information obtained during the review for personal or organizational advantage.
- Objective Analysis: Reviewers should analyze manuscripts objectively, without being influenced by the origin, beliefs, gender, or other characteristics of the author.
- Constructive Reviews: Reviews should be constructed objectively, avoiding instigation or insulting comments.
- Accurate Information: Reviewers provide accurate personal information according to their expertise.
Editors:
- Non-discrimination: Editors ensure that manuscripts are evaluated based on intellectual content, without discrimination based on authors' characteristics.
- Originality Check: Editors use appropriate software to assess manuscripts for originality.
- Decision Making: Editors make decisions (accept, decline/reject, resubmit, or request revision) based on the journal's requirements prior to peer review.
- Blind Peer Review: Manuscripts are forwarded to blind peer reviewers for objective recommendations.
- Confidentiality: Editors maintain confidentiality regarding all submitted manuscripts.
- Avoidance of Unethical Use: Editors do not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research without written consent from the author.
