Publication Ethics

The publication of articles in Peradaban Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Research (PJIER) upholds the highest standards of ethical conduct. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, peer reviewers, and editors—are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:

Authors:

  • Adherence to Guidelines: Authors must comply with the journal's editorial policies and follow the author guidelines provided by PJIER.

  • Originality and Integrity: Authors must ensure that their work is original, free from plagiarism, and presented honestly—avoiding fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data.

  • Exclusive Submission: Submissions to PJIER must not be under consideration by other journals during the review process.

  • Transparency in Methodology: Authors should provide clear, detailed descriptions of their research methods to support reproducibility and verification.

  • Ethical Research Practices: Research involving human participants or educational settings must be conducted responsibly and in accordance with relevant ethical standards and regulations.

  • Responsibility and Accountability: Authors are fully accountable for the content of their manuscript, including ensuring all co-authors have agreed to the submission.

  • Correction of Errors: If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obliged to promptly inform the journal editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.

Peer Reviewers:

  • Relevant Expertise and Timely Review: Reviewers should only accept assignments within their field of expertise and complete their evaluations within the requested timeframe.

  • Constructive and Respectful Feedback: Reviews must be objective, respectful, and constructive, offering clear and well-supported insights to help authors improve their work.

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and refrain from sharing or discussing their content with unauthorized parties.

  • No Misuse of Information: Information gained during the review process must not be used for personal advantage or the advantage of any other party.

  • Impartiality: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts without bias regarding the author’s identity, background, or institutional affiliation.

  • Accuracy of Reviewer Information: Reviewers are expected to provide accurate details about their qualifications and areas of expertise.

Editors:

  • Fair and Unbiased Decisions: Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit and relevance to PJIER’s scope, without regard to the authors' race, gender, affiliation, or other personal characteristics.

  • Plagiarism Screening: Editors utilize appropriate tools to check submissions for originality and potential plagiarism.

  • Editorial Responsibility: Decisions to accept, revise, or reject manuscripts are made based on the journal’s editorial policies and the reviewers’ recommendations.

  • Blind Peer Review: Submissions undergo a blind peer review process to ensure objective and impartial assessment.

  • Confidentiality: Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and editorial communications.

  • Integrity of the Publication Process: Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for their own research without written permission from the author.
