Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

  1. The manuscript should be written in English, Indonesian, or Arabic and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The manuscript must be free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.
  2. The manuscript should present an original scholarly contribution relevant to the study of religion and society, in accordance with the aims and scope of Peradaban Journal of Religion and Society (PJRS).
  3. Authors should register as users and authors of the journal's Online Journal System (OJS) before submitting a manuscript. The submission process is conducted entirely through the journal's online submission system.
  4. Manuscripts will be considered for publication in Peradaban Journal of Religion and Society (PJRS) after undergoing editorial assessment and double-blind peer review.
  5. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following author guidelines and the PJRS Article Template. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with the journal's formatting, ethical, and publication requirements.

Structure of the Manuscripts

  1. Title. The title should be concise, clear, informative, and directly reflect the main issue or argument of the manuscript. The title should preferably not exceed 15 words and should avoid uncommon abbreviations or unnecessary expressions.
  2. Author's Names and Institutions. The authors' full names should be accompanied by their institutional affiliations, city and country, and email addresses. Academic degrees and professional titles should not be included. The corresponding author should be identified during the submission process.
  3. Abstract. The abstract should be written in a single paragraph of no more than 250 words. It should concisely present the research problem or background, purpose or objective, research approach or methodology where relevant, principal findings or arguments, and the main contribution or significance of the study. The abstract should be clear and understandable independently of the main text. References and unexplained abbreviations should generally be avoided.
  4. Keywords. List three to five pertinent keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons (;). Keywords should be sufficiently specific to facilitate the discovery and indexing of the article.
  5. Introduction. The Introduction should establish the background and significance of the study, review relevant scholarship, identify the current state of research, and clearly formulate the research problem, gap, objectives, and/or research questions. The Introduction should also explain the contribution or significance of the study. Relevant references should be cited appropriately according to APA 7th edition style. Technical terms, abbreviations, and acronyms should be defined when first introduced. Tables and figures should be cited in numerical order.
The research method should be briefly explained in the Introduction. Depending on the nature of the study, the method may include the research approach, sources or subjects of the study, data collection, and analytical procedures. Authors may use a separate Method or Research Methodology subsection when the study requires a more detailed methodological explanation.
  1. Results and Discussion. This section should present the main findings or arguments of the study and critically discuss their interpretation in relation to the research questions or objectives, relevant theories, and previous studies. The findings should be supported by appropriate evidence and should demonstrate the scholarly contribution of the study. Authors should explain the significance of the findings and, where relevant, identify similarities, differences, confirmations, or developments in relation to previous scholarship. The section may be divided into appropriate subsections according to the research questions, analytical framework, or major findings.
  2. Conclusions. The conclusion should directly address the research objectives or questions and summarize the principal findings or arguments of the study. The conclusion should not merely repeat the Results and Discussion or the abstract. Where appropriate, authors may indicate the implications, limitations, and directions for future research.
  3. References. The reference list should contain only sources cited in the manuscript. Peradaban Journal of Religion and Society uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style for citations and references. Authors should ensure that all cited works appear in the reference list and that all listed references are cited in the manuscript. Authors should prioritize relevant, recent, and high-quality scholarly sources while appropriately citing seminal and foundational works where necessary. PJRS does not impose a fixed percentage requirement for references published within a particular period. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or equivalent tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
