Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the Peradaban Journal of Law and Society (PJLS) must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any use of content from other sources must be properly cited. Quoted material should be clearly distinguished from the author's original writing, and all sources must be appropriately acknowledged.

The editorial team uses plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) to identify potential plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct. Every submission will be screened to determine its Similarity Index, and editorial decisions will be made based on the following criteria:

  • Similarity Index above 25%: The manuscript will be rejected due to significant overlap with existing works.

  • Similarity Index between 15%–25%: The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision, with a request to reduce the level of similarity.

  • Similarity Index below 10%: The manuscript is considered to have acceptable originality and will be processed further, subject to standard editorial and peer-review revisions.

PJLS upholds the principles of academic integrity and does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional.
